ABOUT BARBARA SCHWERIN:
After working in private practice for 10 years, Barbara Schwerin, Esq., became Founding Director of the Cancer Legal Resource Center in 1997. As director, she spoke at programs nationwide on cancer-related legal issues, supervised law school students who staffed the telephone intake line, served on advisory boards for cancer organizations, and was published in numerous cancer-related articles. She became Deputy Director of Community Programs at the DRLC in 2005 and CEO for The Maple Counseling Center in Beverly Hills, CA, in 2007. She was appointed Director of Development at Loyola Law School in 2008 and served as Adjunct Professor of Law and Executive Director of the Advocacy Institute from 2010 until she retired in 2017. She serves on the CLRC Advisory Committee.

The Cancer Legal Resource Center (CLRC), a program of the Disability Rights Legal Center, is the only national dedicated center for patients, survivors, caregivers, and health care professionals to access confidential cancer-related legal information and resources at no cost. CLRC maintains a Professional Panel of qualified attorneys who can be matched with callers needing legal counsel.
CLRC is seeking attorneys barred in any state with experience in a wide range of legal issue areas, including but not limited to employment, insurance, estate planning, government benefits, medical malpractice, consumer rights or family law to join its Professional Panel and to help people navigate their cancer-related legal concerns.
