A man who uses a wheelchair utilized an online service to affordably travel by bus to visit family and friends in San Diego and other cities. On various occasions, however, our client encountered inaccessible buses, inoperable wheelchair lifts, and rude, untrained drivers.
DRLC has now settled claims against one of the bus contractors to ensure their fleet operates in accordance with the ADA and that drivers are properly trained to use and maintain the bus wheelchair lifts. Our client received a significant financial settlement in addition to the injunctive relief negotiated. In addition, DRLC obtained a default judgment against a second bus contractor.
