DRLC RESOLVES DISPUTE WITH APP-BASED TRANSPORTATION PROVIDER ON BEHALF OF WHEELCHAIR USER

The Disability Rights Legal Center (DRLC) and pro bono counsel Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP (Stroock) have successfully resolved a dispute with an app-based transportation provider on behalf of a wheelchair-user. Mr. F. alleged there were various instances when he was not provided a wheelchair accessible vehicle, leaving him stranded without transportation, missing important family events. The parties worked together amicably to resolve Mr. F’s claims, assuring that the transportation service contracted with accessible vehicle providers, updated policies and procedures, and trained employees to help ensure all customers receive excellent service. The agreement and terms remain confidential based on the parties’ wishes, but Mr. F states that the matter has been resolved to his satisfaction.
