In Civil Rights

DRLC has secured a special education settlement on behalf of a young Victorville man with disabilities who does not speak, and who had never been assessed for assistive technology nor received any meaningful education in two years.

As a result of DRLC’s special education due process case, filed with co-counsel Rios Eubanks LLP, the student will receive a slate of independent assessments, a functional behavior plan, in-home and school-based assistance, as well as substantial compensatory education services including necessary assistive technology. The student’s family has expressed tremendous gratitude for DRLC’s work in helping the student, who lives in an area where services are difficult to obtain.
